The BladewerxActiveRMS3
interface provides an ActiveX object interface for communicating with a Thermo Eberline RMS-3,
either locally or across a network. ActiveX objects provide an alternative to conventional
RadNet-type applications and are supported by a wide variety of Windows applications,
including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Visual Basic
and Visual C++. This means that using a Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro within
an Excel spreadsheet, a connection with an RMS-3 can be established and data retrieved
directly into the spreadsheet. As shown in the example below, the ActiveRMS3 Server
provides translation between the Thermo Eberline RMS-3 serial RS-232/485 protocol and
ActiveX methods and properties. Another networked PC running the ActiveRMS3 Client
can access the properties and methods of the RMS-3 by addressing the Server PC.
Key
Benefits
Rapid development of custom data acquisition and reporting projects.
Network access means more than one client at a time can view RMS-3 data.
Non-UDP transport means guaranteed delivery of communications packets.
Better security. Network authentication and authorization is supported.
